I was there in Hyderabad for Sankranthi on a long leave and had the pleasure to watch the film 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'. In the film Mahesh Babu asks a modern Telugu girl (yet to come to a conclusion on the term 'Modern Telugu Girl/woman')  "Puvvu isthe ekkda pettukuntave?"  with profound sarcasm and logic behind it, this dialogue reflected my thought and mindset. Ordinary readers can also have their own opinions and criticisms after reading the entire post. I seriously wonder if the word 'Telugutanam' is relevant anymore?. ఏమో? ఏమో? సమాధానం లేని ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానం, ఏమో? సమాధానం చెప్పలేని ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానం, ఏమో? ప్రశ్నలే మనసునిండా ఉంటే వచ్చే సమాధానం, ఏమో? ప్రశ్నలే సమాధానం అయినప్పుడు చెప్పే సమాధానం, అర్థంకాలేదా పై నాలుగు వాక్యాలు, ఏమో? అర్థమైనా ఒప్పుకోలేనివా ఆ నాలుగు వాక్యాలు, ఏమో? అర్థంలేనివి అనైనా కొట్టిపారేస్తావా పోనీ, ఏమో? అర్థంవెతికే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తావా పోనీ, ఏమో? ఏమో? ఏమో? ఏమో? ఏమో? రంగుల ప్రపంచం మాత్రమే కోరుకునే ఓ మనసా, కలలేకంటూ, హరివిల్లే ఇల్లు అవ్వాలనేది నీ ఆశ, వాస్తావాల వాసన చూసేసరికి, అవాక్కయ్యవా? వర్షం పడ్డ కాసేపే ఉంటుందన్నది మర్చిపోయావా?    ఆలోచించే నీ మెదడుకు అన్నీ తెలుసు, కాస్తకిందకి చేర వెయ్యి నీ మనసుకూ.. జరిగేది తెలుసూ, జరగనిది తెలుసూ, తెలిసీ తెలియక కాదు, ఒప్పుకోలేవని కూడా తెలుసూ, అలా ఒప్పుకోలేక చెప్పే నీ సమాధానం, ఏమో? సమాధానం ఆశించడం తప్పా? ఏమో? సమాధానం మనసుకి నచ్చకపోవడం తప్పా? ఏమో? ఏన్నాళ్ళు ఇలా ఓ మనసా, కుదురుకో, మేలుకో, వాస్తవాలు గ్రహించు, నీ మెదడు మాట విను.. -- మీ  సాయి కార్తీక్

నేరం నాది కాదు, నీది, నరకయాతన నీది కాదు, నాది, మనసు గాయం మాసి పోదు మదిని వీడి వెళ్ళిపోదు, నిన్నలోని నిరీక్షన, కన్నీరై కరిగిన క్షణాన, మనసు గాయం లోతు ఎంతో గుండె అడుగునున్న ఆ కన్నీటినడగాలి. స్వేచ్చగా వచ్చి నా తలుపు తట్టి వచ్చి చేరిపోయావు, వెళ్తూ వెళ్తూ స్వఛ్ఛమైన నా గుండె గుడిని మార్చేసావు, నీతో ఉన్న నిన్నటి ఆ తీపి క్షణం, తలుచుకోలేను మరే క్షణం. మనసంటే అద్దం అంటారు ముక్కలైతే అతకదంటారు, నీకోసం పేర్చా ప్రతీ సారీ విరిగిన వెంటనే, నీ కొసం, గుచ్చుకున్న గాజు భాధంతా గుండెల్లో దాచి, నిలబడ్డా ప్రతీ సారీ నీ బొమ్మ చుడాలని, ఆ అద్దంలో. ప్రతి మాటా ప్రతి పలుకు గాలి లో కలవచ్చు కానీ, మద్యలో అవి తాకిన మది తలుపులు, పదిలం చెశాయి నీ ప్రతి మాటా, వస్తావో వెళ్తావో వుంటావూ వీడతావో, నిర్ణయం నాది కాదు, నీది, యాతన నీది కాదు, నాది. --  మీ  సాయి కార్తీక్

శ్రీ వేంకటేశుని వైభవం చూతము రారండి, శ్రీనివాసుని పాదాభివందనం చేతము రండి. నిత్యకల్యాణ నిజశోభ నెలవంకకైనా కలదా, ఆ వేవేల రతనాల కాంతి మన స్వామిదే అవదా. ఏంతో ఎత్తునున్న ఆ ఏడుకొండలవాడు, జనులందరికి అండగా కొండపై నిలుచున్నాడు. గోవర్థనమెత్తిన గోవర్ధనుడు ఈ గోవిందుడు, ఉడత భక్తిని మెచ్చిన రాముడు ఈ రమణుడు. కలిగించు నీపై భక్తి మా హ్రుదయాలలో, కురిపించు నీ కరుణ మా లోగిళ్ళలో. నిన్ను చేరాలనే తలుపు కలిగించు మా మనసులో, చెర్చుకో నీ పాదాల చెంత హరి పాదరేణువులలో. అహో ఆ శ్రీ వేంకటేశుని వైభవం, చాలవు ఈ రెండు కళ్ళు,చాలదు నూరెళ్ళ ఈ జన్మ. ఆహా ఆ కళ్యాణరాముని కరుణ, పొందాలి అందరు ప్రతి జన్మలో, జన్మాంతరాలు ఇక లేకుండా. --  మీ  సాయి కార్తీక్

The pretext of this article is the feelings of many Indians like me, who are not very happy with this pongal. Let me draw a line and tell you that I am not writing this article in disdain. Pongal, Makar Sankranti, Songkran, Thingyan, Maghi called out with many names all over South Asia. Out of many traditional folklores circulating in India, let me choose first, ichha mrityu(death at will) of Bhishma who left his mortal coil on this day. Other being, Makar sankranthi which marks the ‘day’ of gods, and it is believed all auspicious things will be done during this six month period (Uttarayana).The other reason is to celebrate the yields of abundant harvest during this time of the year in India. Whatever reason may be, it is one of the festivals of our Indian culture. My moot point is about the harvest and producers of that harvest – farmers.
